The 3rd Arlington Tigers' Roar Competition will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Arlington High School, Arlington, TN.  Competition times will be released by the Mississippi Indoor Association closer to the date of the contest.

Arlington High School boasts a large parking area.  Spectator parking will be separate from that of performing groups to avoid excess traffic and lower the chance of any accidents caused by the mixture of cars, props, accessories, and performers in a confined area. The Arlington High School Band Boosters will have traffic attendants and signage posted around the school on the day of the competition to direct all traffic to the correct area. Spectators should enter from the entrance off Airline Road and park in the student parking lot. Performers should enter campus from Milton Wilson Road and park in the athletic parking lot nearest the PE (Warmup) Gym.



Guard groups will have warmup areas in the PE Gym and wrestling room of Arlington High. The wrestling room will be used for body.  The PE gym will be equipment warmup for the units.  See the attached indoor map for details.

Percussion groups will have designated warmups in the band room and cafeteria.  The Cafeteria will be Warmup A and the Band Room Warmup B.



Judges are provided by the Mississippi Indoor Association and will be trained, high-quality judges with years of experience judging guard and percussion groups.  A list of judges will be provided at a later date.


Sound System Setup

Yarbrough's Music Co. in Memphis, TN is providing a sound system for the Tigers' Roar competition.  Coaches and sponsors should provide the audio for their performance on a CD, Flash Drive, or digital copy.  Any media should be clearly marked with the performing groups name, school affiliation (if scholastic), and coach's name.


These will be returned at the end of the competition in the packet with judges' sheets and written commentary.


During breaks there will be a period to test audio with the sound technicians. This is highly suggested to avoid any technical issues and ensure that the correct audio has been selected. This will also be a chance for the technicians to modify volume levels for the performance.


Please, no phones if at all possible.



Full concessions will be available in the Arlington High School rotunda.  The Arlington High School Band Boosters will have a variety of snacks, food, and drinks available for purchase.


Director/Chaperone Hospitality

Director and coach hospitality will be located in the school library across from the Varsity Gym.  


Chaperones will be provided a voucher for a free food and drink item from the concession stand, but should not be in the hospitality room.
